Challenge: Developing a rainbow trout product for young consumers

Kalaneuvos is a Finnish family-owned company with 50 years of experience in producing fish products. The high quality and superior taste of their products are guaranteed by skillfully processed items, fish grown and raised in Finland’s clean waters, and the best imported raw materials. All Kalaneuvos products are made in Finland.

Research indicates that fish buyers and consumers in Finland are predominantly from the older generation, with a very small role played by young consumers. Current national nutritional recommendations encourage a healthier diet, and fish is one of the “super proteins” recommended for consumption at least 2-3 times a week.

In this challenge, the goal for students is to create a rainbow trout product aimed at young consumers that fits their taste, style, price point, and packaging size. The product concept can include both the edible product and the packaging solution for it.
