Challenge: utilizing honey in food products
Hunaja-Salo is a bee farming company founded in 2006. The company has a wide contact network in Europe and is specialized in producing high-quality honey.
The goal of Hunaja-Salo is to expand its business activities and to develop new products to meet market needs. For example, honey could be utilized in food products for diabetic people, such as in blood sugar level raising pastilles, and as a cooking spice. In Europe, you can find many different products made of honey and milk, for example, that aren’t yet available in Finland. Honey side streams could also be utilized in developing new products.
In this challenge, students have the chance to find new ways of utilizing honey in food products.
