New perspective and fresh ideas

The week-long innovation event brings together students, companies and researchers from various fields to solve challenges of the food chain. Student teams will be solving the challenges supported by a group of experts. The company receives solutions from different teams. The languages ​​of the festival are English and Finnish. The next innovation week will take place in the autumn of 2025.

In Flavoria Innovation Festival we are looking for challenges especially from the top themes of the food chain development:

  • New crops
  • Circular economy solutions
  • Measurement and utilization of data
  • Short chains, platform economy and new business models
  • Fisheries
  • Food tourism and restaurants

The challenge can be, for example, developing a product or a service or renewing a process. There will be multiple teams solving each challenge, so as a company you will get more than one fresh, innovative suggestion.

Multidisciplinary teams

By participating in the Flavoria Innovation Festival event, you also create visibility for your company among students. You get to create a positive image of your company and create relationships with future employees and partners. Students are being recruited from the University of Turku, Turku university of applied sciences and vocational college in Livia. The teams consist of students from different fields – from initial production to consumer marketing. Teams are mentored throughout the process.

Bring your challenge to the event for free

In addition to the company challenge, the company must be ready to participate in the event week. In addition to presenting the challenge on Monday, there must be representatives from the company evaluating the pre-ideas on Wednesday and final solutions on Friday.
