Day 2: Flavoria Innovation Festival
A team going through their “crazy 8’s” with Mari Norrdal.
The second day of Flavoria Innovation Festival saw the teams going through their ideas from Monday and discussing their progress with mentors.
The day started with the students searching for ideas and information and going through answers from the companies. They then tested producing “crazy 8’s”, which means drawing or writing eight ideas on paper in the course of 8 minutes – the results where explained to their team members and everyone got to vote on their favorite ideas. They also developed the ideas further by sketching solutions.
Feedback from mentors
The teams gathered their three pre-ideas on PowerPoint and presented these to mentors. This year, the mentors commenting on the ideas of the teams solving Oy Lunden Ab Jalostaja’s challenge were Reetta Kivelä (University of Helsinki, Nordic Umami Company), Eija Kulju (Turku University of Applied Sciences) and Samuel Piha (University of Turku). Aki Koponen (University of Turku), Markku Oksman (ED-Design) and Sanni Moilanen (Restaurant Manager) mentored teams solving Sodexo Oy’s challenge, and Saska Tuomasjukka (Lapin Maria, University of Turku), Mari Norrdal (Aistila, University of Turku) and Johanna Tanhuanpää (Invenire Market Intelligence Oy).
